We at Hobotech take pride in the professional and reliable services we offer to the computer industry.  Since the 1970’s we have supplied small and large scale software solutions world-wide on various platforms, commercially and as private individuals.  We love TiVo, we acquired and configured our first TiVo in 2001 when there were no Australian forums, now you too can share the benefits of our expertise.

Our policy is simple, we’re determined to introduce a more hassle-free, straight-forward procedure to get you and your TiVo up and running.  Life shouldn’t be challenging, that’s why we’ve incorporated a customised “Guided Setup” unlike any other in Australia.  All you have to do is follow the prompts!

Our image has undergone extensive beta testing over several months. As skilled software professionals we are well aware of the need for rigorous testing.  It has passed every test with flying colours!

The “Guided Setup” isn't all that our image provides!  We also increase the size of the TiVo's live TV buffer from the measly 30 minutes provided by default, to a full 2 hours!  So, if you come home and find the TiVo is showing the last 5 minutes of your favourite program just press the record button and still capture the whole show! Or simply rewind to the beginning and watch it live!  After all, the rewind buffer is one of the coolest things about a TiVo, why be needlessly limited to a paltry 30 minutes?  (By the way, this isn't a hack developed by us, it's freely available, but it is slightly risky to perform, so we’ve done it for you to remove the possibility of error!)

Of course you can download ozTiVo’s image and install it yourself (some other sellers provide this image contrary to the ozTiVo group’s explicit demand that they should not).  But if like so many people you don’t have enough hours in the day, our customised TiVos offer a clean and simple solution.

Each of our TiVo packages includes:

A Philips Series 1 TiVo, reconditioned and in excellent condition.  Each TiVo is completely ready to go, there is nothing else you need to buy.  It comes complete with a new 250GB Hard Disk which has our exclusive image pre-installed, ready for you to complete our easy Guided Setup.

Your TiVo has already been modified with a complete set of PAL Modifications, including PAL Tuner,  Mark 2 Stereo modification and the second set of AV inputs so you can (if you wish) run two external boxes (eg, Digital and PayTV) simultaneously.  So there's no waiting and no extra postage required!  It's all been done and tested for you.

Of course we include one of the essential TiVo ethernet cards which are becoming harder and harder to find, and we will even preconfigure the card to use your choice of static or dynamic IP addressing.  All hardware is completely assembled and tested for you so you should never need to open your TiVo.

Note that our TiVos are not new and may have very minor cosmetic blemishes consistent with normal use but they are all fully tested and in perfect working order.  We back up all our TiVos with a full 3 month "return to base" warranty so you can buy with absolute confidence.
